There are many attractions and things to do when you choose Shaw Safaris as your operator in Tanzania. On arrival we will meet and greet you at the airport and transport you to Twiga Lodge. Wind down after your long international flight in our home’s tranquil atmosphere. When you are rested we will tell you about all the wonderful opportunities and options open to you.
Staying with us at Twiga Lodge for a full day before setting off on your Self Drive Safaris enables us to ensure you are well prepared and briefed for your adventure.
Paul will take you for a spin, to introduce you to your hired 4x4 and give a full briefing on the vehicle and all its equipment - both mechanically (additional gadgets installed to assist you) and the camping gear and accessories.
There is so much to see in and around Arusha, which we would happily arrange for you. Hikes and climbs up both Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, an accompanied game drive with picnic basket into Arusha National Park (which borders with Twiga Lodge). Culture tours or a trip to a neighboring coffee plantation (Tanzania produce more than 50000 tones’ of Arabica coffee annually), canoeing and hiking for the active… and so much more.
Tanzania is as diverse as it is fascinating, with many exciting spots right on Twiga Lodge’s doorstep! The rich culture is as intoxicating as the animals and landscapes are breathtaking!
Our wish is for you to embrace the colour, sights and smells of Tanzania through the wide range of additional activities available for you.
Here are some examples of what we can arrange for you while you are staying with us:
